HD1010 networked - post trafficdownload error

I've got some HD1010's that I'm readying to deploy, set up for simple file networking. They seem to be working fine, picking up updates from our web server, playing presentations, etc. However, checking the server's IIS log files, they are generating requests to post "trafficdownload" at the rate of about 55 times per second. I'm also seeing a request to post "devicedownload" once per minute along with each get request for current-sync.xml This only occurs after I publish an updated or new presentation for a currently running player. if I boot the unit and let it pick up any updates, it operates as it should; one request per minute for current-sync.xml. It still also request to post "devicedownload" which results in a 404 error, but the blizzard of "trafficdownload" requests stops. If I publish a new or changed presentation, the blizzard starts back up; reboot, and it stops. All post requests for both "trafficdownload" and "devicedownload" are resulting in 404 errors; log files are full of this.......... 2010-06-17 14:18:51 W3SVC534114897 10.38.0.5 POST /brightsign/TestPlayer01/TRAFFICDOWNLOAD - 80 - 10.38.47.59 HD1010/3.2.67+(Roku+BrightSign) 404 0 2 2010-06-17 14:18:51 W3SVC534114897 10.38.0.5 POST /brightsign/TestPlayer01/TRAFFICDOWNLOAD - 80 - 10.38.47.59 HD1010/3.2.67+(Roku+BrightSign) 404 0 2 2010-06-17 14:18:51 W3SVC534114897 10.38.0.5 POST /brightsign/TestPlayer01/TRAFFICDOWNLOAD - 80 - 10.38.47.59 HD1010/3.2.67+(Roku+BrightSign) 404 0 2 2010-06-17 14:18:51 W3SVC534114897 10.38.0.5 POST /brightsign/TestPlayer01/TRAFFICDOWNLOAD - 80 - 10.38.47.59 HD1010/3.2.67+(Roku+BrightSign) 404 0 2 2010-06-17 14:18:51 W3SVC534114897 10.38.0.5 POST /brightsign/TestPlayer01/TRAFFICDOWNLOAD - 80 - 10.38.47.59 HD1010/3.2.67+(Roku+BrightSign) 404 0 2 2010-06-17 14:18:51 W3SVC534114897 10.38.0.5 POST /brightsign/TestPlayer01/TRAFFICDOWNLOAD - 80 - 10.38.47.59 HD1010/3.2.67+(Roku+BrightSign) 404 0 2 2010-06-17 14:18:51 W3SVC534114897 10.38.0.5 POST /brightsign/TestPlayer01/TRAFFICDOWNLOAD - 80 - 10.38.47.59 HD1010/3.2.67+(Roku+BrightSign) 404 0 2 2010-06-17 14:18:51 W3SVC534114897 10.38.0.5 POST /brightsign/TestPlayer01/TRAFFICDOWNLOAD - 80 - 10.38.47.59 HD1010/3.2.67+(Roku+BrightSign) 404 0 2 I'm getting huge log files and excessive network traffic - any idea what going on and what to do about it?

    Please install this version of brightauthor and retest.

    If you're still seeing the excessive logs, I can manually turn off some of the logging calls that are trying to send data to your web server.

    You can email me directly at <!-- e --><a href="mailto:support@brightsign.biz">support@brightsign.biz</a><!-- e -->.

    I was just going to post this problem as well. It seems that updating the web server with new files causes running HD210's and 1010's to go into some network loop, spitting out never-ending network traffic. Just installed .38 and will get back to you on the progress.

    Ok, let me know. I have the list of routines that's generating the extra traffic. If you're still seeing some, I'll send a modified autorun for build 38 that disables all of those upload routines.

    When you say updating the network with new files, what do you mean? Do you mean updating brightauthor, and then publishing a project to the server that's using a newer version than the content that's on the unit?

    Yes. Uploading a new project to the web server with new videos and XML files created the problem.

    It seems that the .38 update did the trick, though. No more network diarrhea.

    I recommend moving the .38 build from beta to release ASAP, as it appears all units updated in this fashion and not power cycled will exhibit this problem.When will BrightAuthor 2.0 finally lose the 'Beta' moniker?

    2.0 will probably lose the beta sticker when the 2.1 beta is posted this quarter. I'm working on getting the web release updated to build 38 right now.

    Thought I'd let you know - no more problems here, either.

    Thanks.

    I Think my problem here is maybe the same <!-- l --><a class="postlink-local" href="http://forums.roku.com/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=31212">viewtopic.php?f=19&t=31212</a><!-- l -->
    Is it possible to upload the latest version of the brightsign author for me too?

    Does the HD210 delete automatically the unused content of the poolfolder when the Box need Space for new content? This question stays <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->
