Keyboard Num Lock

Hi, I am using a HD810 with a USB numeric keypad to select video playback..... sort of like a juke box, but not. It works great, and the user can select a track by typeing its number, then enter. Is there a way from within a brightsign script to enable the Num lock on the keypad by default each time the unit is booted? At the moment, the numlock is off by default, and the first user must select it in order for it to work. Thanks.

    I don't know of any way to set the numlock.

    What I'm not sure is if when numlock is engaged, if there is still input sent to the unit. If there is, we could simply listen for both the numbers, and the other values sent.

    Are you using a brightauthor project? If so, you can open the autorun.brs file on the flash cards, and set debugon to true, and then test again. With debug mode on, any key press is reported over the serial output.

    Has anyone ever found a solution to this?

    I know this can be done on Linux, so should be a way to do it with the BrightSign.

    I often use a smaller Numeric Keypad to trigger live video clips. But if you forget to turn on the Num Lock, then nothing triggers correctly.

    There should be a way to at least script something to turn on the Num Lock when the BrightSign players boot.

    Hi,

    There are actually no Keyboard event generated when using the numerical keyboard if Num Lock is not ON. I'll check with the FW Engineers if it is possible to set Num Lock ON in system software.

    Hi,

    I have the same issue with a numeric keypad.

    I tried non printing keyboard keys solution in BrightAuthor, but it doesn't work.

    I tried to do it with Brightscript but the numeric Keys doesn't fire events :

    I saw this in the html log page when I click on the numeric keys

    [ 52.064] No mapping for key 79
    [ 52.768] No mapping for key 80
    [ 53.232] No mapping for key 81

     

    Do you have a solution?
