fading a playing soundfile with pushbutton

hello at roku, a quite simple q: we want to play a soundfile then, on pushing a button, fade this soundfile. when it has ended (faded out) the next soundfile should start and s.o. i asume it will be some kind of museum application. i'm sure this is possible, but in the moment i just have a hd2000 at hand and this won't collaborate with brightautor. pls advice. i think we will use a hd410 for this purpose, right? thanx gwe

    You can't use brightauthor with the HD2000, but yes you can use the 410. The fading of the audio can't be accomplished using a setting in brightauthor. You will need to customize the script that brightauthor uses so that the audio fades down.

    Over how long a period of time should the fade occur? Should it take 2 seconds to go from full volume to zero? And it's after this fade that you want the next file to start?  Pretty much what will need to happen is the volume level will need to be lowered in small amounts until you reach zero.

    if we would use a hd2000 could we control it over *.csv or any scripting?? pls adviced on this. pls give examples!

    the fade should take place when a button is pressed, fadetime 2 or 3 sec. when the soundfile has ended ( or resp. the volume has reached zero), the next soundfile should start playing until this one is faded by pushbutton. if there is no push the file is to be looped, i asume.  i try to squeeze out more information off my boss, what the hell this project is all about. i think i get this info today. pls send anything that might work with a hd2000.
    pls adviced on this. pls give examples!
    i still don't know what kind of box we will order for this job, but we'll have to do scripting anyhow, right?

    nb. i already had success this year, doing an application with brightauthor, but still have my problems with scripting!!

    hello!
    just now i had a talk with my boss. the sounds are the audiotracks of 4 videoclips. the first of them, in a pre-defined order (or maybe randomized, which would make more sense to me), is to be played on pushbutton and the audio is faded in (not in the videotrack itself, but by roku) the clip loops (without any fades). at next push the playing (looping) clip's audio is faded out. at volume zero, the clip stops and the next clip (predefined order or randomly) starts and?  you're right ! fades in etc. etc.
    obviously, if the button comes in to the middle of a clip, the visual is stopped at any point.
    imho i can not imagine wot it's good for..
    anyhow...

    hello at roku!
    here is the "fading" again and i tell you there is no more fading! but....
    the new task: there are 3 videos. when the unit powers up, the first video starts and loops if there is no button pushed. if a button (there is just one button!) is pushed, the second video is started etc. there will be no audio-fading, it cuts right in (to make it more simple). we will use hd410 for the app. unfortunately the hardware is not at hand today, maybe not until thursday. the setup of the show is on friday the 8th. i think i can do this show using brightauthor, right? but i can not test it, because the only player i have on hand is hd2000.
    another (minor?) issue is, to complicate things again, "they" want to use soundfiles independently from the videos, i.e. the videos have no sound, but an audiofile (loops) to each video, and changes accordingly at contact. is this a big thing? not for you, i know! so pls give any comment on this project.

    nb.
    the same one pushbutton should be used to give a trigger to dmx to change the lighting. just in case we'd need it, can roku generate an output from the given commands. basically we think we can use the button an just "distribute" the contacting.

    so pls give feedback!
