I'm working on a project that requires me to move my players from sneaker net into simple file sharing. And I've followed the tutorials in both the brightauthor manual and the forum thread on Simple File Sharing and all I'm getting out of the player is a black screen. I have also tried using suggestions found in this thread with no success viewtopic.php?f=19&t=27975 Any advice you could give me at this point would be greatly appreciated.

Try a test project on the unit with time and an rss feed to make sure it's getting to the internet fine.
Also, on the flash card, what's in the root? What's in the pool folder? There should be a log.txt file you can check to see what errors were reported. -

The card looks exactly like the web location as I copied the exact same files to both the card and to an additional folder on my web site for examination.

I just configured the unit to play some local images and a rss feed using sneakernet and it worked just fine.
I wiped the card after the sneakernet (no error files) and then published the same project that I had just sneaker net played up to the internet site and then pushed a simple file networking configuration to the card.
I then powered the unit with the config files on the card and waited 15 min
My project has 2 jpg images, a yellow background and 1 rss feed that it pulls text from.
The player is connected via broadband.
After letting the player sit for some 20 min there still is no content being displayed.
No other lights than the power indicator are light and once about every 2 min the unit indicates that it is busy. for appx 5 seconds.
Powering down the unit and examining the card reveals multiple hash files in the pool folder. -

Can you check if there's a log.txt file on the flash card? If there are hash files on the card, then those files downloaded to the card. SO, if it's not playing then one or more files didn't download successfully. That info should be in the log.txt file. -

I just checked and there is no log.txt file on the card....
went back into the config file and enabled logging
re-loaded the card...here is the output of the log.txt

Binary FTP v.s. Auto.
