Serial control of HD1010

Hi We are currently installing 21 HD1010 units in a museum and need some help controlling them serially. The units are to play an attractor loop until triggered by a PIR attached to an Arduino Uno board. I have used the BrightAuthor software to place the files in the playlist and used the serial command to put in a simple 1 comand to get from attractor to main film and then back to the attractor once finished. To test it I connected the HD1010 to my laptop and using Hercules I have sent the 1CR command but nothing happens. I have seen on the forum the autoplay file and I have tried using this but the unit seems to just freeze and nothing happens. Basically I have spent a day scratching my head and with a little cursing added in, got nowhere. Any assistance or help you can offer will be most gratefully accepted at the moment Ed

  Can you send me your brightauthor bpf file, the project file, so I can look at how it's setup? DId you confirm the serial port speed set in hercules matched what you set in your brightauthor project.
  
  Finally, since I also use hercules, when you sent 1 CR, did it look like this:
  
  1<CR>
  
  This is the syntax required by hercules to send a carriage return after the the number 1.
