HELP "time.brightsignnetwork.com" is not on Daylight saving

AEST on "time.brightsignnetwork.com" is still one hour behind. Australian Eastern time changes one hour forward on the first Sunday in October. This is not yet reflected in the Brightsign time server for AEST. My clients are yelling at me to get their scheduling back.

    It looks like the current rule for AEST (and the other Australian time zones) is "last Sunday in October" and "last Sunday in March" (the same as the European rule) which is clearly wrong. <!-- s:( --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" title="Sad" /><!-- s:( -->

    A short term workaround should be to set the time zone on the affected units to "GMT+11" temporarily.

    This will be fixed in a firmware update, that should be available by the end of next week. This will be an update to the 3.7 branch of the firmware.

    I noticed the same issue for myself as well. I ended up changing the Time Server under BrightSign Unit Setup to: nist1-ny.ustiming.org instead.

    Time servers maintain the time in UTC. Local time is derived from that using the configured time zone and time zone and daylight saving rules in the firmware on the BrightSign. The problem reported by the original poster was that these rules are currently out of date for Australia. The rules are still the same even when a different time server is used so the problem will persist no matter which (correctly configured) time server is used.

    HTH.

    This still seems to be an issue. We're trying to show time related content in AEDT and its showing incorrectly.
    We were looking at rolling out a couple of hundred players but it's not viable for us to be changing time zones on that many players twice a year.

    Yes Wade;

    The same thing happens to us. We have many HD222 with firmware updated to the maximum: v7.1.113. Time zone is WET: Western European Time, and the time is not changed in summer (+1hour). It is not practical to change the time on so many devices twice a year. Why doesn't it work in Europe?

    According to the website: https://support.brightsign.biz/hc/en-us/articles/360021514593?input_string=time+zone

    It says verbatim: Using Daylight Saving Time To have the player automatically shift hours for summer/winter time, select a named time zone that uses Daylight Saving Time (DST). For example, since most of Europe uses DST, selecting one of the European timezones (WET/CET/EET) will instruct the player to observe summer/winter hours automatically.

    In theory with Time Zone: WET Western European Time, it should work. Does this not work on the HD222? We have several installed.

    Hi again;

    Talking to our dealer...

    Our time zone is CET, not WET. We are from Spain. Our fault.

    In winter we will see if it changes automatically. We assume so.

    Greetings.
