editing the configuration after authoring

Hi,

I have a set of HD210s that is already deployed. Recently the client replace the screens and I need to change audio output to HDMI.

Bright Author Ver.: 2.3.0.71

HD210 Firmware Ver.: 3.7.52

I am trying to do this by editing the configuration file. I know which file to open. In my case, it's 'sha1-F93DF87878AED8A9B937A479B887EF534BD36263' in the 'pool' folder - about 8KB in size.

I am wondering:

1. if editing the configuration file will cause any problem - say, if the file name itself should be changed.

2. if I need to do something about the 'local-sync.xml' file. I am not currently using BrightSign Network nor Simple File Network.

Please help!

    Don't renane the hashtag filename.  That will only give you grief.

    Only way I know to successfully accomplish switching the audio in a Brightauthor project is to re-edit the BPF.

    Brightauthor's default output is set to analog.  i.e. 3.5mm stereo jack

    Using Brightauthor when editing or creating the project click on the zone, then click zone properties then set audio settings to digital stereo.  That will send the audio over the HDMI.

    Did a bit of digging and found a way to do it.

    You were on the right track !

    Open the 8Kb Hash-tagged file in notepad,  near the bottom you will find a line;

    " <audioOutput>Analog Audio</audioOutput>'

    Change it to;
    " <audioOutput>SPDIF Audio with Stereo PCM (HDMI Audio)</audioOutput>"

    That will do it for you  :-)
