Brightsign HD1020

Is there a reason that the boot-up splash screen is not present on the new models like the HD1020?

I know these products boot considerably faster, but I for one miss the blue bar on start up.

I particularly miss the orange bar signalling a firmware update.  That was particularly helpful.

    Brian,

I think you must be running the 4.0.3 FW . Collect the latest FW from the support home page and update your device. The Splash Screen and FW update bar are in the newer FW versions.

I am running 4.1.35 FW.  and I ran 4.0.26 before that.

The HD1020 only displays the Brightsign Logo and Unit ID number if booted with no SD card present.

The HD1010 and HD810 etc. used to display a Blue progress bar when the unit was loading and display an orange bar when the firmware was updating.

This is not the case with the HD1020

I just updated a HD220 a few days ago from 4.0.13 to 4.0.26, and also did not see the typical Firmware progress bar that I am used to seeing.

Perhaps it happens faster than the time it takes for the display to sync to the video signal, but I don't think I have ever seen it on the newer units either.

The new units start quicker and there isn't enough time to display the progress bar. When the firmware is updating 'Upd' orange light is blinking on the side of the unit. Firmware update is much faster on the new units. If you use networkable unit I suggest that you enable diagnostic web server in setup files. It will allow you to check the firmware version without rebooting the unit, and check other aspects of the BrightSign using any web browser by simple pointing the browser at the device.
