1024x768x25p?

Hi, I have content that is 1024x768 and 25p and I have a projector that is 1024x768 resolution native (though supports 720p, 1080i, 1080p/60, 1080p/50, 576i, 576p, 480i, 480p).

However, I don't see 1024x768x25p as a supported videomode. What videomode do you recommend I use? Thanks.

WE don't support that as an output setting 1024 @ 25p. You can play 25p content. I would use the 75p setting for your 25p content if it's 1024x768.

OK, I'll try 1024x768x75p with my content later today. 75p seems weird. I appreciate it being a multiple of 25, but don't understand how it would work and what issues this difference presents.

Also, I need a simple script to set the videomode. The BS player will only have a single .mov file on it which I want auto-playing in a loop continuously. I know that the player will automatically do this w/o a script, but I want to ensure the best possible image quality by setting the videomode. I just use a autorun.brs file instead of BrightAuthor. I have various brs files that will probably work, but they are all quite complicated for this simple playback.

Also, in terms of image quality, what is preferred and what is the visual difference between creating 1024x768x75p media (in other words, retime my video) for this videomode versus using media of my current spec, namely, 1024x768x25p and then have the hardware handle the rest.

I know for instance, that retiming my media to 75fps via software will produce many new frames that are akin to very high quality cross-dissolves between the original frames. Though these made-up frames are very realistic and impressive it can lead to a different effect than the original 25p media. For instance, titles that used to flash-on, now dissolve up. Also, in general I expect that the new 75p content might appear a bit smoother than the original. What I don't know is how the BS player and projector then handle this anomalous 75p content.

Alternatively, what happens if I choose 1024x768x25p and then have the hardware handle the rest? Thanks s'more.

Her's a simple script with a video mode setting near the top that you can edit. It plays any videos it finds, 1 or more.

There shouldn't be any quality loss since the refresh rate used is a multiple of your frame rate.

You can't encode content at 75p for the brightsign. The highest supported is 60p on the XD players, and 30p on older players.

    Thank you for that script.

Weirdly my HD120 is running 1024x768x75p content connected to my native 1920x1200@60Hz LCD monitor just fine. There are some fairly strong deinterlacing artifacts, but otherwise fine. Videomode is 1024x768x75p.

Will the BS deinterlacer be involved if I run my monitor is a 1024x768x25p content with videomode 1024x768x75p?

I just updated my firmware to current in order to have 25p for some 1080p content. Since the update I'm finding the 1024x768x25p content looks much better - minimal to no deinterlacing artifacts.

However, the script you provided no longer works - regardless of the videomode setting. Remove the script and the video plays. So, instead I tried the playall1080 script:(https://www.brightsignnetwork.com/download/Scripts/playall1080.zip). This script is more complicated and probably more than I need to just autoplay and loop 1 .mov, but it's working.
