Video Media RSS

Hi,

I created a Video Media RSS feed (using the template I found here in the support section). I put it on a webserver. Everything looks good, I can access the feed via Browser and I also can play the videos there. That means the links to my video files are ok. So I created a new project in BrightAuthor, no error window when I typed my feed URL into the Media-RSS object. Fine. But my HD210 doesn't play any video files. The right green light is flashing from time to time, but no videos show up. Although its connected to the internet. What could be the problem here? I tried media-rss feeds with images before (same location on my server) they worked perfectly fine. Videos are encoded correctly, I already used them in another BrightSign project.

Please send a link to your video media rss feed. Have you tested with the latest BrightAuthor and firmware versions?

I sent you the link via e-mail (support@brightsign.biz). I am using the latest firmware and also downloaded and tried with the new version of BA.

Thanks a lot for your email. Your great support is one of the reasons I choose BrightSign for all of my projects.

In case somebody else is making the same mistake in future - here's what I did wrong:

I changed the media type to quicktime, as all of my files where quicktime files, but in fact the media type should always be "mpeg" (type="video/mpeg"/). Now it works fine.

Thanks. I thought I had sent a message about that to you, but maybe someone else was having the same issue.

Yeah, you did send me a message that's why I though i should post the solution here so that other users - that might have made the same mistake - are able to find the answer right here. Maybe my english is too bad and I just don't get it. Anyway - problem solved, once again: Thank and keep up the great work!
