Is there a way to use more than 18 GPIO-buttons on HD1010 with EM100?

Is there a way to connect more than the 18 buttons to an HD1010 device with the EM100 interface? Could you, for example, plug another EM100 into the USB-Port of the first EM100 expander?

I'm asking because we were tasked with connecting 30 buttons to a Brightsign device. Is that somehow possible?

The GPIO port on the unit only supports 8 buttons, so that would be 8 buttons or 4 buttons with 4 leds. You need a gpio for each button or led. There are adapter boards made by www.hms-electronics.com that support much more buttons, up to 64 inputs and outputs using the GPIO port and the 5v serial port combined. It gives you 64 gpios inputs an 64 gpio outputs. So, that would work for you. You can contact them.

And, programming it is easy, you can use our graphical authoring program to set it up. The extra gpios and leds are controlled over serial, so button presses received as serial bytes, and leds controlled by sending serial bytes.

    Thanks for your support.

We have ordered an HD64x64 board from HMS Electronics and it also has been delivered.
Now I'm having some trouble connecting it to our device (which happens to be a HD1020). How do I have to connect the board to the Roku device? Just plug it into the GPIO-port and that's it?

I know Brightsign is not responsible for supporting these boards, I have also contacted HMS, but they are on vacation and I need an answer pretty quickly. Any help you could offer us is much appreciated.
