Any one else try the new BA 3.5.0.22 software on a HD220 with 4.4.34 Beta firmware and have any issues?
I installed BA and updated firmware on unit.
(Question: I downloaded 4.4.34 for the HD220, but noticed that is the same build number for the new XD models. Are there 2 builds with the same version numbering? Or is it the same build for both HD and XD, but just listed twice on the download page?)
BA warned that project files needed to be recreated (ok, somewhat normal for a newer build of software) so I republished project with new version, and uploaded to my server (Simple File Networking).
Unit never downloaded new version from server, so ok, maybe I need to do the Setup BrighSign Unit again. So I created new setup files, and reformatted card, and placed the new setup files on card. Still the unit was not updating to the new project files.
I checked my server logs, and the BrightSign unit had not polled the server at all since the Firmware update.
I checked to make sure that the unit came up ok on the network, I could log into the unit fine, so it was connected to the network fine.
I went back to the past state with the unit, loading 4.2.47 firmware back onto the HD220, and the BA 3.2.0.12 setup files on the card and project files on the server. The unit went back to polling the server every 5 minutes and loaded the project fine, just as it should.
So, I'm not sure what was going on, and don't want to spend more time on it tonight. Maybe I will revisit again later in the week. But not sure what else I can do, since in the end I had new firmware and setup files on the card, and new project files on the server. In fact the exact same steps I did to return the unit back to the older version, which worked fine.
Just wanted to let people know there may be issues.
