Current status for using files larger than 4 GB?

I would like to know what the current status is when having video files larger than 4 GB?
Looking through the forum I've found different (and contradictory) answers.
Using exFat file system is suggested by RokuLyndon here:http://support.brightsign.biz/entries/21138761-problems-using-big-video-file-size

But here Support America says that exFat is not supported: http://support.brightsign.biz/entries/22008898-exfat-formatted-card-not-working

I'm currently using BrightAuthor 3.5.0.22 and HD210 players with FirmWare 3.10.22.
If I format the SD card as exFat, the HD210 acts as if no card is inserted, if I try NTFS the HD210 says that the card is write protected.

So what I would like to know is how can I use video files larger than 4 GB with BrightAuthor and a HD210 player?

Yes, ext3 is supported not exfat. I'll fix that old post if I can.

ntfs is supported but only for read only. So, you can't download to it, and can't have any logging turned on that would write to the sd card.

Ok, but I can still use BrightAuthor to do the programming if I publish directly to the SD-card?

What do I do so the HD210 doesn't just say that "card is write protected"?
As far as I can see I have no logging turned on in BrightAuthor.

Yes, you can. If you're using ntfs, just make sure under publish you don't have logging turned on, and under the logging button, there's no logging turned on.

Turning off logging will get rid of the write protected error message when using ntfs.  Use this script to reset the unit to defaults. It'll clear any logging settings in the registry.

The reset script did the trick, thanks!

Hello! Does the autorun you included also reset the unit's setup files? In other words, if I've already set up the unit to have a specific name & IP address, will I have to set that up again?

I ask because after using the autorun from above, the NTFS card worked great. I then set up the unit again with new setup files (no logging enabled whatsoever) and the error message return. My predicament is while I can reset the unit, I need to assure that the unit has an IP address and is networked with Local File Networking, because it is part of a multi-monitor synced setup wtih Sync commands.

    Yes.

    Yes.

You can't use Local Networking with NTFS formatted card, because brightsign players do not support writing to NTFS formatted storage. If you want to use NTFS, you will need to publish schedule to SD card, then insert SD card in the player and power up. In this case your computer writes files to SD card, and brightsign device just reads files from SD card.

OK, but I can still run Synced presentations like I would on a FAT32 card, correct? I would just set them up again with their IP addresses as Standalone (not Local Networked) players, and provided they are on the same network as before, they should send their sync commands correctly, yes?

Lastly, in their "standalone" players is it still possible to include the diagnostic web server (i.e. login through a browser) option?

Yes, you can run sync on fat32, and you can on ntfs.

Yes, you can do setup as you describe.

yes, diag server can be turned on in standalone mode.
