How to show a simple html page?

In principle I'd like my XD device to show a HTML (4.01) page from a remote server that basically contains one jpg image and some text that changes now and then (in a table format). I've tried to create a project with Bright Author that tries to load a HTML5 page and the Content URL is the webpage that I'm trying to show (http://server.somewhere.com/data.html) and some jpg images that it shows in a loop. I uploaded the project and the jpg images are shown but not the html page. When I'm sniffing the network traffic the player does not even try to download the html page.

Is there something that I'm missing?

  Hi Markus,

  What BrightAuthor and firmware versions are you using? Did you try to play other web pages on the unit? Do you have the diagnostic web server turned on the XD device? If so, type the unit's ip address in a web browser in order to access the unit web interface, click on Diagnostics menu, press Run under Network Diagnostics. The results of the network test will appear in a web browser. This will tell you if your player is able to connect to Internet or not.

  BrightAuthor is 3.5.0.36, firmware on device is 4.6.66. I'm using BrightNetwork and device the does load the presentations from the BrightNetwork so network connection should not be a problem. Testing to Ping the webserver from the XD230 works ok (Diagnostic Page/Ping).

  Adding to my previous post, Network Diagnostics give PASS on all checks (except Wifi, well didn't expect that to work either :-))

  Does the Internet test say OK? Please send a print screen with the test results. Did you try to play a different web page, for example http://www.brightsign.biz ? Update the firmware on the unit to version 4.7.96, update BrightAuthor to version 3.7.0.34 and retest. You can download BrightAuthor and firmware from this page Software Downloads.

  Screencapture as attachment.  Tested to change the url to http://www.brightsign.biz/ but it does not show up on the screen. I'll try to upgrade BrightAuthor and Firmware.

  Hi,

  uppdating BrighAuthor to 3.7.0.34 did the trick without updating firmware on the player. Thanks, it's working nicely now.
