Is BrightAuthor suitable for this?

Hi

I'm thinking of specifying HD220 and HD1020 players for a museum job. They want slideshows of still images with text, both looped and button controlled.

I'll be designing the templates, and it must be easy for them to update the pics & text.

I've looked at BrightAuthor to see if it's suitable, and I'm not sure! Can you help?

  • can I transition a whole screen, with pic & text?
  • can I transition a live text box?
  • can I have bold & normal in the same text field?

I don't have a brightSign player to test on, so I'm really trying to make a decision in the dark. Any advice appreciated!

Thanks,
Mark Rennick

Yes, you can use livetext to put text over an image, and then transition the whole thing. But, there aren't effects with this change when livetext is involved.

If you're asking about fades and wipes, then that's for images only.

No, you can't do bold and normal in the same field

Thanks. It sounds like BA would'nt be the best choice for me.

Unless anyone has a suggestion for how to make a dynamic, easily updated slideshow?

You also have the option of doing this with html if that's your area of expertise. The XD players support html playback. So, if you or your customer is more comfortable with html, they can use the XD230, for example, and use whatever tools they currently have to generate html content for playback on the brightsign.

Thanks, I'll look at that option.
