HD1020 keypad support..?

I have previously used  logitech wireless numeric keypads to control  HD810's with great success.  When you connect them to a PC, they appear as a standard HID device with no drivers needed.

I tried a keypad today on a HD1020 (with latest firmware) and had no success. A wired keyboard works fine, the wireless keypad does not.

Any ideas as to why this no longer works?

Please update the firmware on the HD1020 to 4.4.34 beta and retest. Download from this page: http://support.brightsign.biz/entries/314637-brightsign-downloads

The HD1020 already has that version loaded. (4.4.34)

I have a custom script. I can put an SD card with script into a HD810, and it works fine with the keypad. Take the same SD card and load into the HD1020, and the keypad is no go.

Sounds like the HD1020 isn't recongizing that HID device. Do you have any debug output in your script to show if the device is actually recognized, if the brightsign sees key presses at all?

Yes, I inserted an extra line into my script to display an image as soon as there was a keyboard event. There was no image displayed with the keypad. I also have a symbol bar code scanner and USB RFID module...both of which are HID and both work fine on the HD1020. When I connect the keypad to the PC, it appears as a generic HID device. Its a bit frustrating, given that it worked so well on the 810.

Are there any events detected when you press the button? Can you check for any event type? It sounds like a firmware bug, but I haven't heard of similar issues with other similar devices. I know of a couple touchscreens we're investigating used to work but don't appear to be currently.

I have the same problem with the numeric keypad Logitech N305 wireless. It works fine with HD1010 (firmware version 3.10.22 Beta) and XD1230 (firmware version 4.4.44). With HD1020, it does not work (firmware versions up to 4.4.44 tested). I think this is a firmware problem. The Logitech wireless keypad is a HID device and does not work only on HD1020. Can you help us further?

Please make sure that you've built the project for HD1020 model correctly. Please send us your presentation (*.bpf file).
