I build a six screen video wall for a client. Its in synch and works, but I want to be able to update the content via simple-file network. So each of the brightsigns (XD 210) has its own watchfolder. That works fine at my place (DHCP network) but it doesn't at my clients office (no DHCP). My clients system admin gave me a IP-address, DNS, and so on. Now I am wondering how that works: Do I only have to assign the IP address to the master unit? What settings to my slave units need to be able to update AND to communicate with the master unit? There is this UDP setting in the interactive tab of my presentation properties: should I assign a specific IP address there also (the same I got from the sys admin?) or should I use a destination port and check the "all devices on the local subnet" radio button (thats what I did to test it in my DHCP network).

Alex You don't need to edit your presentations. You need to create new setup files for the units (Tools -> Setup BrightSign unit), enter the required IP settings, save setup files onto appropriate SD cards and power up the units with SD cards.

Stefan Can all of the units have the same ip address or does each need another? -
Alex Every unit must have the unique IP address.

Stefan But then i need to use a port as udp instead of an ip right? -
Alex UDP Destination and Receiver ports are the ports that units use to communicate with each other. UDP Destination port should match UDP Receiver port and these ports should be the same in all your presentations (master and slave). You don't need to change the UDP ports.

Stefan Well I needed to switch from IP to allin tthe same subnet. The ports are all set the same. I now seems to resync at the beginning but looses sync after time. All units have the same firmeware, all videos are encoded the same and match the supported video specs. No audio. -
Alex Have you created the setup files with manual ip address for each player? Can you ping the units from your computer? Have you enabled a diagnostic web server in setup files? If yes, try to access the units from a web browser by typing their ip addresses.
