3.5.0.22 Simple File Network Publishing Troubles

Looking at the current-sync.xml file after publishing a project to the web folder shows links to jpeg files that were not created.

Example from current sync file...

<name>Timbers_Plasma.jpg</name> <size>287688</size> <hash method="sha1">9800e0766c87ac52001fc211baddc1a32e04ab8f</hash>

<link>http://xxx.xxx.x.xxx:8080/Timbers Steakhouse//pool/8/f/sha1-9800e0766c87ac52001fc211baddc1a32e04ab8f</link> <headers inherit="no"/> <chargeable>no</chargeable>

The link to the file was never created during the publishing process (I replaced the ip with x's).  The pool 8 folder was never created.  This only happened for both the jpeg files.  All of the other file links were created successfully and can be downloaded.

I created the mime type entry "." Application/Octet-Stream but still have not had any success.

Which of the below URLs did you specify when creating setup files (Tools - Setup BrightSign unit) and before publishing a presentation (Set Parameters)?

    http://xxx.xxx.x.xxx:8080/Timbers Steakhouse/

    http://xxx.xxx.x.xxx:8080/Timbers%20Steakhouse/

So I deleted everything from the hfs fileserver where the project was published to, renamed the jpeg files and republished the project to the hfs server.  The hash tags are now correct in the current-sync.xml file.

The problem I have now is the hd210w will not download the new current-sync.xml file when I edit the project and re-publish the project to the hfs server.

Looking at the hfs server it shows the media player request the current-sync.xml file and fully download it, but then when I pull the card from the media player and look at the current-sync..xml file it is still the old original one.

So although the hfs server says the file is being downloaded, the current-sync.xml file is not being overwritten on the sd card...

Did you manually assign IP settings for the unit, or does the unit get them from the network? I need to know the IP address of the unit and URL you specified for SFN in BA setup window. Power up the unit without SD card. The IP address will be shown on the screen. Please create support ticket and send the requested info.

You can use this method to clean the registry of the unit:

    http://support.brightsign.biz/entries/21796878-How-do-I-restore-reset-a-unit-to-Factory-Default-settings-

Then re-setup the unit from the scratch.
