Live Text Feature

I created a image zone with Live Text. I chose a .png as background image, created one MRSS item, that links to an valid image rss feed with two other .png images. The problem is - the images from my MRSS feed are not displayed). The feed is valid. I'm sure it worked in an older version of BA, so I guess it is a bug?

I also noticed that after I created my item, created an chose my feed and clicked OK to close the Live Text, the selection on my feed gets lost. Because, when I double click the Live Text icon again - the Live Text window opens again - I make no changes but try to click Ok again to close the window, it says "You must specify one or more Media RSS URL's (sic!) for the Media RSS feed". I am using version 3.5.0.22

    Can you send us your project file and the url for the mrss feed? when you say you're sure it worked, do you mean it was working, then you updated, and now it stopped working, and this was recent?

    If you just do the mrss feed, without anything else, does it still fail to display?

     

    Please update to brightauthor version 3.5.0.31, and retest. I know there was a bug with earlier 3.5 where the feed entry wouldn't be listed when you left the livetext object and came back.

    I attached the project fil, the feed URL ist http://tdtvischgl.topdestination.tv/testrss/testrss.xml

    I ment, could create a live-text object with a background image and a overlaying MRSS feed with an older version of BA.

    I now updated to 3.5.0.31, the feed is not valid anymore, no matter if I insert it in a MRSS or livetext object. I used your MRSS image sample code to create the MRSS feed.

    I've created a simple presentation in BA3.5.0.31. I added Live Text widget to playlist, chose a .png as background image, selected "Media RSS Feed" as a type, pressed "Update Media RSS URL List" button > "Add Live Data Feed", specified the URL to your mrss feed http://tdtvischgl.topdestination.tv/testrss/testrss.xml

    I published the project to my XD1030 (4.4.75 firmware). The images from media rss feed are displayed over a background image on the screen. I'm attaching my test presentation.

    Okay, I updated to BA 3.5.031, Updated my XD1030 to firmware 4.4.75 (I created a new project with a firmware user variable to see if the update worked), I downloaded your test project and exportet it as a local presentation. It only displays the background image and nothing else. I didn't change anything, don't know what I am doing wrong. Anything else I could try?

    Okay, sorry - my internet connection was broken - so now your test project works. Only my .png graphics from my MRSS feed are not transparent.

    BrightSigns support image overlays over video. You can use PNG images with transparency, and videos will play through the transparent regions of the PNG files. You can also have transparency over a Background Image zone. This will allow you do to image overlays. So, you add a background image zone (or video/images zone) to a presentation, put your background image in that zone, then add Live Text object (without a background image) to the zone that is above the background zone.
