RTSP - Matrox Monarch HD

Has anyone else used a http://www.matrox.com/video/en/products/monarch_hd/specs/ with the XD series units.

RTSP - H.264 with AAC audio. The video comes through but it snags every couple of seconds and the audio doesn't seem to be decoded by the XD1030.

I'm aware there is limited support for RTSP. Is this a bug or expected behavior with an unsupported stream?

    See this FAQ:
    http://support.brightsign.biz/entries/22262919-What-Video-Streaming-Formats-Do-BrightSign-Players-Support-

If the video stream is using RTSP to control connections between endpoints, the video must be encapsulated using MPEG2-TS.

Is the streaming source on the same LAN with the XD1030 unit?

    You should use 4.7.122 firmware.

We recommend transport streams for best streaming performance.

There's been less testing with audio+video streams. Can you test if you stream video, without audio, if that works fine?

    • Players can now play video streams from a Matrox Maevex 5100 encoder. Note that audio support for this series of encoders is still a work in progress.

As of FW 3.8.8 Video playback is correct just no audio, as mentioned above.

    Hi here,

We face a difficult with :

    • a Matrox Monarch HD (encoded real-time video stream in H264 @5000kb/s RTSP transport layer)
    • a couple of brightsign XD232 player (Brightauthor 4.1.1.14, Firmware 5.1.40)
    • a 1GB Ethernet network

No video is displayed on Brightsign, despite many tests. Video is displayed without pb on a PC with VLC for exemple. Any support on this point please ?
