Hidden SSID's?

Is it possible to connect an XD230 with the wifi module to a hidden wifi network (no passphrase)?

Yes, you can create setup files using the ssid, and leave the passphrase blank.

    Okay that's good.

But what about connecting to a network that doesn't broadcast the SSID? We have a hidden network at our offices that doesn't broadcast its SSID.

Well, if it didn't broadcast the ssid, you would have to know it ahead of time, and enter it as part of the setup. It doesn't matter if the network broadcasts so long as you know what the ssid is.

Okay. I know the SSID. In my testing at our main office, it won't seem to connect to it. But if they do support connecting to a network not broadcasting the SSID, then it's likely an issue with our network.

Did you test the unit with other wifi network to make sure the wireless module is working? Describe the behavior of the wifi led on the side of the unit. Does it flash, stay lit permanently, or not active? What BrightAuthor and firmware version do you use? Zip and send us the setup files you used to configure the XD230 player.

It works on our guest network. The light flashes every few seconds. I've got the latest production releases of Bright Author and the firmware.
