BrightWalls

Has anyone tried this feature yet?

Am looking forward to giving it a go!

I was wondering, in the user manual it recommends using .mp4 files for creating BrightWall projects - in the video technotes for video sync using individual projects it says .mov files are better.

Is there a reason for this difference?

MOV and MP4 are just containers and they do not present any real effect on the quality of the encoded videos. You can use both MOV and MP4 with the brightsign players. The files should match these specs:

We did a 4x1 wall last night, after installing BrightAuthor 3.8.0.27 Beta and updating the firmware on our XD230s to 4.7.146 Beta.

Creating the wall was ridiculously easy. Define number of rows and columns, assign a video to each segment, assign a segment to each screen.

MP4 playback was not a seamless loop. There was a slight, but noticeable pause.

MOV also exhibited the same pause.

I am assuming that since the BrightWall is capable of playing a series of videos, rather than limited to looping a single video, it may be passing a "video end" event, which causes the pause.

There is a break as you transition from one video to the next. THat part is not seamless currently.

How does one stretch an image across screens? It appears Brightwall is only for video?

Either buy LG displays that support "Tile Mode", NEC that supports "Matrix" and use a single Brightsign player or...

...configure multiple Brightsign players (one for each display) for "Enhanced Synch".  One player is the master and throws out a UDP synch word and the other players are set to listen for that word and play content at the same time.  Of course you must make content that is split amongst the various players.
