Seamless looping, on GPIO Event play next Video after finishing first one

I tried to get the following scenario:A video file is looping. Once a GPIO Button is pressed the Video file plays till the end end switches to another video.

Generally it is not a problem to get this working - but it is a problem to get a seamless loop with it. As soon as you add some Media End Event handler in BrightAuthor, the player is reloading the same video at its end. So there is a short delay.

I tried to do it per script as well - with the same result, a short delay in the loop.

Seamless looping seems to work just without any event at the end. I tried using the Time Code Handler - but as its just a timeout handler not restarting in looped videos not working either.

Any ideas that could help? Is there any chance to get some message from a looping video when reaching its end or something similiar?

Thanks.tom

I don't think it's possible to build what you've described without a use of the Media End event. And you're correct, in order to play a video seamlessly, the Media End event can't be attached to the file. See this FAQ:

What brightsign player and what BrightAuthor version are you using?

What firmware version is installed on the player?

    Please send your presentation file.

Download the Mediainfo program (free) from http://mediainfo.sourceforge.net. Use mediainfo to open the video file that you want to loop seamlessly, click on View - Text, copy the full specs of your video to a notepad file and attach a file to this thread.

    Hello,

I exactly got the same matter :

A video file is looping. Once a GPIO Button is pressed the Video file plays till the end end switches to another video (using variable and conditionnal target).

    I'm using a XD1030 with firmware 5.1.16 and BA 4.1.0.5.

I have a perfect seamless loop when my movie plays alone (in an interactive playlist as well), but as soon as I put a Media End event I got a short delay when the movie loops.

If I add some commands on the Media End event (conditional target or a Synchronise Command), the delay augments.

Any way to remove this delay ? or a least have it shortest possible ?

Attached my file media info details.

    Many thanks

    Hi Bertrand,

Have you tested your presentation with different videos? The requirements for seamless video loop are here:

    http://support.brightsign.biz/entries/170032-How-do-I-loop-a-single-video-seamlessly-

BrightAuthor 4.1.0.5 does not support XD1030.

Please install BrightAuthor 4.1.0.7 and use firmware 5.1.24. Link to download page: http://www.brightsign.biz/downloads/xd-devices/

    Hi,

Yes I've tested with different videos.

And I can confirm all videos I use are correctly looping when they are in a non-interactive playist or when they are in an interactive playlist with no media end event.

    I'll try the beta version.

Is there any solutions about this problem? I have same problem and it is really irritating and I don't know what to do or is this all pointless if this is not still working.

I use HD1020 with 5.1.48 beta firmware and 4.1.0.10 BrightAuthor version. Videos are H264 MOV, CBR 20mbs with AAC sound. I notice that you recommend PCM sound with SOWT codec. But I don't found any program which can make that in mac. I normally use Premiere CC and Media Encoder CC. Is this sound codec a problem or is it just this Media End event which cause this?

    Thanks!

    Hi Pasi,

    >Is this sound codec a problem or is it just this Media End event which cause this?

In BA, you will not be able have a transition event on a state whilst still being able to do seamless looping (regardless if the file has a audio track or has the right codec for the audio track).

As for the encoding, I believe that Compressor use to be able to create such files.
