HDx10 units no DVI with FW 3.10.40 or higher.

For any user of a HDx10 series unit connected to a DVI monitor or projector.

DO NOT update your player past 3.10.40 (not available on the support page) you will also need to use a older version of BA..something around BrightAuthor 3.5.0.36 (also not available on the support page)

Your device will continue to work with the current BA and available FW if using HDMI or VGA.

However if you are using DVI then you will need to run 2 separate systems.

BrightSign should add the method for running 2 separate systems to this:

If you need previous versions for any of your systems you will need to contact BrightSign as they are not posted on the site. Support has ended for these devices and they are no longer developing FW for these units.

    Can you elaborate on this?

    Do you mean using a HDMI to DVI cable or adapter to connect to a DVI monitor/projector?

    Is it only when connected DVI, and connecting to a HDMI device works fine?

    One of the companies I work for has several of these units that we use from time to time, and sometimes they are connected to HDMI monitors/projectors and sometimes they are connected to DVI monitors/projectors.

    I just want to make sure I understand the problem for future reference.

    I do not have access to any of those units right now to check, as they are maintained out of the Dallas branch.

    Hi John,

    We noticed the issue when a project was modified slightly to update some information, republished, updating the FW to the most recent as required by BA.

    The issue is present when connecting via a HDMI to DVI cable into monitors/projectors from the HDx10 players.

    According to BrightSign support this will not work after fw 3.10.40 - not that they bothered to tell anyone.

    Foolish us for expecting the product to work the same way it always has!

    Could really bite you if you sent a unit back out to a client expecting it to work!

    We are running a short term dual-version to support our investment. Obviously the easy fix would be for BS to make 3.10.40 the minimum compatible version, in BA, so you get full backwards support.

    If you need the fw or BA you will have to ask support as it isn't posted on the site.
