Is it possible to use an XD1030 as a simple player that our customer can load .mpg or .mov files on a memory card, install in the XD1030. Then nothing happens until a control system sends an RS-232 or UDP command to play a specific file? We would like for the memory card to not have any files that the user could delete and the setup not operate properly.

Simple playback would start automatically if there's no presentation from BrightAuthor.
However, listening for and responding to the events from the control system would then custom coding in BrightScript

Also, the script would still reside on the memory card, so it's subject to user interaction if you're allowing the user access to it.
