Does anyone know of any HD TVs or monitors which support the Bright Control "Display Off" command?

John Marsh I am just having the same problem with some LG displays.
Can turn on with CEC Brightcontrol command but cannot turn off.
Any clues anyone?

Lyndon What size display are you looking for? I've had customers that used samsung displays, and I believe at least one LG. Part of the problem is cec is a voluntary standard before HDMI 2.0. Which LG models are you testing with? and which brightsign units?

Allen H. Porter I am using many different models of commercial Samsung displays. BrightControl will turn any of them on. But the Display Off command does not work on any of them. Send ASCII String 4F821100 also works to switch the Samsung display to HDMI 1. So I am reasonably certain the issue is with the code used for the Display Off command or Samsung's implementation of CEC. I also tried Send ASCII String 4036 and that did not affect the various Samsung displays.
Samsung DB32D
Samsung ME65B
Any idea what code works?

Eugene Vale Unfortunately there is probably no code which will work. The problem is in the monitor. I have yet to find a monitor that will accept the CEC display off command. I’ve had to resort to a hardware solution. I use a BrighSign output to drive a relay whose normally open contacts are hooked in parallel across the power switch of the display. Then I program the bright sign to switch the output on and then off one second later. It’s a little messy but it works. You just need a relay that will function with the 3.3 volt output.

Allen H. Porter Actually just figured this out for the Samsung commercial displays. This was an issue with the display configuration and not BrightSign.
On the Samsung display, in the General menu look for and enable "Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC)" and set it to "On". Then in that same menu area you should find "Auto Turn Off" which must be set to "Yes". Next add the BrightControl commands to an object in the BrightAuthor Presentation and publish... and that is it! This is working on the two models I listed above. So with Anynet+ on but the Auto Turn Off set to No, I could turn on the display via BrightControl and I could even set for input HDMI 1 but the Display Off command wouldn't work. Now it does.
Here is another thread on this subject. The codes for switching inputs work for me as well.

Hope this helps.
