XD230 Multicast stream commands

We have a number of IP cameras that I have been trying to get multicasting to 16 XD230 devices.

I can send a multicast stream to the devices from VLC player no problem.
All of the IP cameras support multicast and allow me to define the multicast address and port. I have tested the streams using VLC and they are working, but entering the multicast address on the XD230's such as rtp@239.128.1.50:5004 does not display the stream. (stream in encoded in h264)
I know in VLC I had to provide more parameters of the stream that where found in the .sdp file on one of the cameras.
Do I just have two IP cameras that are not compatible or are there any switches or options I can specify in the stream address?

Thanks

What make/model camera do you have?

The BrightSign player needs to access a streaming server, which is slightly different from just a stream source.

    Hi, The cameras are -1 Panasonic WV-SP509, 2 D-Link DCS-7110

They both have basic multicast servers built in to them, and can multicast to multiple instances of VLC and or QuickTime. But both these player required either the .sdp file, or the correct command line switches to be used to understand the stream.

    Thanks
