Switch between Templates - SD / 4K mix

Hello,

i have a customer who wants to mix up is 4K and SD Content.
The 4K content should be played in fullscreen while the SD content needs to be displayed in a much smaller box which will be framed by some widgets.

At first i thought this would be no problem but now i noticed there is no option to switch between the Templates to make this happen.

I hope someone can support me with some suggetions / ideas.

    You can use the Other>Resize Zone command to resize/reposition zones.

    So resize the video zone for your SD content and reposition the side zones as necessary either on or off screen.

    Hi Pascal,The Presentation Properties has a tab called "Switch Presentations", and the Bright Author User Manual explains how to use it, but I was thinking of using a different method, that keeps everything in a single presentation.

    Here is the general idea.

    After creating your SD layout, add another video only zone, and set it to cover the entire screen, and z position it at the front, so it covers the SD video zone and widgets.

    The 4K video should be set to not loop.

    You would then respond to end of 4K video, by resizing the 4K zone, and positioning it so it reveals the SD layout.

    When it is time for the 4K to play again, you would need to resize the 4K zone again, so it covers the screen.

    Theoretically that should work :)

    The resize zone command is under the "Other" section.

    I'm not sure whether the zone can be positioned outside of the canvas, so you may have to position it over a black background, for it not to be noticed...

    I couldn't get that to work with the Preview feature in BrightAuthor, so I will try it later on a real player, as this seems like something we should also know how to execute.

    To hide a video/videoOrImages/image zone you can reposition it to the max X,Y value.  So for a 1920x1080 output, position it at 1920,1080.

    For clock or ticker zone, use the Widget-Hide-or-Show plugin
