Birthday schedule

We are trying to create a page with birthdays of the coming month or week. We tried to create a page with user variables and filled those with name and date.

How can we get the presentation to automatically use the correct slide for this week or month? The date/time event doesn't work this way it seems and we can't find any other way.

Any help would be appreciated, we are lost at the moment.

You could probably create such page using web technology, and simply use HTML5 to display on the BrightSign.

If you can post the brightauthor project, it might be easier to understand what you are trying to do. HTML/jscript is one way to go. You may also be able to use a plugin to use the correct day/month.

How would you like it to work? Do you want to add events for specific dates or days in brightauthor? Or do you want brightauthor to figure out what should play in week 1 of February..?

You can have different content play based on values in variables.

And, you could use a plugin to figure out what week of the month it is, what day, and then send a zone message or some other trigger to play something in the project.

I need more details about what's needed.

    Hi Lyndon,

One way of doing it: if i could figure out what month we are,  then if could simply display the predefined  file "january.jpg" it would be very simple as i would pre upload all the months in the unit.

    or other way :

Could i tell the unit to display an external text or image file from a server. And someone would make sure to update that file every month.

BrightSign Network Live Media Feeds' items, can be scheduled to become available at predefined dates and times.

You could schedule events ahead of time, and consume the media with something like Image List state, or RSS Feed state, etc...

Notice that media is scheduled in UTC time zone, which would require some calculation.

Training people to schedule images on BSN feeds, would be easier than training them to use BrightAuthor...

    Hi Lyndon,

I finally found a quick way around it. I put an html link to an internal web server, the html file simply displays a jpg file. That jpg file will be maintained by an RH person everymonth.
