BrightWall - Live Video with 4 Players

So I am thinking about a 2 x 2 video wall using four XD1032's.  I plan on having digital art playing most of the time.  Occasionally, I will switch to a presentation which will contain an embedded live video window along with RSS feed, weather, whatever.  Question - if I distribute the Live video feed to all four XD1032's, will the software and BrightWall configuration manage the live video window crossing display mullions?  I know that if you have video files, you need to have the video rendered out with the appropriate quadrants.  reaching for the stars and hoping its possible.

Thanks in advance.

    Hi Jared,

There are two types of BrightWalls you can create: Regular and Stretched.

Regular: Each panel of the BrightWall presentation is made up of a different video file. To create a single video surface out of multiple screens, video assets will need to be tailored for the video wall using the source application (e.g. Adobe After Effects): You will need to split the videos into their respective screens and adjust for bezel width before adding the assets to BrightAuthor. Alternatively, you can use each screen to display a different Streaming Video or Live Video source.

Stretched: The video wall is made up of a single video. BrightAuthor automatically splits the video among the screens. This option allows you to display video files, as well as Streaming Video, Live Video, and RF Input.

In order for LIVE video walls to work, all players in the wall need to receive the source HDMI signal. If you want to use the 2x2 as a video wall with content stretched across all 4 screens, you would need the HDMI splitter.

Note, RSS feeds aren't supported in a BrightWall presentation. You can only add video files, LiveVideo and VideoStream objects.

thanks.  This will probably be an issue for me.  I want to use four independent rendered video files to allow ultra high resolution (native across each panel) for my digital art portion but definitely need to switch to a different presentation which would require live video support.

Can I switch between Regular and Stretch via presentation switching (UDP)?  Realistically, stretched (even though I am using four XD1032) is essentially taking the 1920 x 1080 output and putting the appropriate quadrants to each player, correct?  This could technically be duplicated by using my video wall's built in tiling capability.

Ultimately I want native 1920 x 1080 on each panel, especially when I go to typical corporate signage with live video window.  The text would look so much better at native resolution per panel.

Hopefully my rambling makes sense.  Thanks

No, you can't switch contents in BrightWalls and BrightWalls using UDP commands. Interactivity will be supported in BrightWalls in future BrightAuthor versions (4.4.x and later).

Yes, your understanding of Stretched BrightWall is correct.

So if I configure this with brightwalls, I can't switch to different presentation nor have variable text fields? Think 3 x 1 menu board demo.

If this is correct, I assume the work around is to configure the wall the original way using the typical set up process but with synchronized events in each players presentation (as demonstrated in the 3 x 1 demo several years ago)? This would then allow me to switch from videos looping through a playlist to a information display template?

    Correct.

Yes, master/slave presentations with Synchronize commands/events will be required to switch a content playback on the BrightSigns.

And would this config also support my live video window across partial screens as mentioned above? How will the players know how to chop the live video to the respective quadrant?

No, this wouldn't support live video. But, we're working on that functionality currently to support interactivity with the brightwall feature

    Hi Lyndon,

Just wondering if this Interactivity with the BrightWall feature is still in the making?

    regards,

    Liz

AutoWall might be suitable for live video.
