WOL Using a Brightsign

Hi all,

We've got to grips with using UDP to control screens/projectors but wondered if anyone out there knows how to send a UDP magic packet to wake on LAN a PC from a Brightsign?

Thanks. Matt

What is a udp magic packet? You can send byte arrays using udp, so if I knew what needed to be in the packet, it could be sent via  plugin or script.

    Hi,

I was just searching for a solution when i came across this topic. I found this plugin to send a hex string:

    https://github.com/brightsign/BrightAuthor-Plugins/blob/master/UDP-Hex-CR-Command-Sender/README.md

When you can send the hex string its simple a header FFFFFFFFFFFF with 16x the mac adress and no CR. I think the CR can be disabled in the plugin scripting. I have to look in to it later.

The plugin has been modified and sends WOL packets, see the attached project file. I've got a version of this that runs through a whole heap of MAC's every 10 mins or so in the morning to make sure everything is awake.

    Hello everyone.

I am trying to run a computer with the script, but I do not understand if it is necessary to modify something in the script.

    Can you help me? please.

    thank you very much.

Is there an active link to Shaun's attachment?  It's no longer on the new forum.  Thank you!
