wol automation

Handy script I use from time to time, updated and the rough edges cleaned off.

Use the excel file to add/remove mac addressees export as XML via dev tab. Make sure there are no empty slots and every mac is some shade of blue by dragging the lower right hand corner to include it, it happens by default when one is added on next line. Delete one by deleting the row.

the file is copied across to the UNIT via the BA>properties>files tab the plugin wants an xml file called wolbatch.xml

plugin name is "wolbatch" and command is "wolrun"

It runs through each mac in the XML file and sends a "magic packet" set to port 7 this should wake-up Linux/PC/MAC's - provided the unit is set up to listen to it.

Has been used in exhibits where the power doesn't shut off so the PC's get shut down at time "X"  and then this batch runs at a set daily-timeout event bring things back to life.

Tested it on most recent BA and BS FW.

    Hello everyone.

I am trying to run a computer with the script, but I do not understand if it is necessary to modify something in the script. What data should I enter in the XML file?. If you can send me an example of what contains your XML file would be great.

    Can you help me? please.

    Thank you very much.

I don't quite understand the question.

See the link below, I can't upload to the forum. There is one small change to the plugin code. Everything you need is inside the zip package, the excel file to generate the WOL xml file. In your excel you need to have the developer tab enabled to export the xml.

    https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Export-XML-data-0b21f51b-56d6-48f0-83d9-a89637cd4360#_showdevelopertab

Just put in the mac addresses you require, should you require more just drag down the last blue highlighted one.

port can be changed on line 31 of the plugin.

There is a sample project in there so look at that.
