Brand new XD232 - can ping but cannot access via web portal nor BrightAuthor

I recently unboxed our shiny new XD232, powered it on, found what IP it grabbed in DHCP, and... can't access it. I cannot get to the web portal nor add it to BrightAuthor, but I can ping it.

I tried performing a factory reset by using the script located here without any luck:

Is there anything else that I can try, or is it possible that I just received a semi-bricked unit?

I've also got it plugged in to a monitor via HDMI and get absolutely no display output.

Have you done the first time configuration and loaded it onto a SD card and plugged in the card?

Yep, that was the first thing I tried. I was under the impression that the web portal should be accessible by default either way, though.

If i remember correctly when i first opened up my XD1132 i thought the same thing.   In the setup bright-sign unit i had to enable the local web-server , and the diagnostic server,  Also  have you left the SD Card in the unit ?

Yeah, I've left it in it. Do you typically get video output before configuring any actual presentations on it?

I'll try creating a fresh setup file and give that a go in just a bit here. Maybe it didn't like the first one I used for whatever reason.

If i remember correctly you get the general splash screen.

But i would load a demo presentation on it just to be in the clear....

also have you installed bonjour to get birghtauthor to see the unit ?

Yep, we've got two (older) units that have been in use for a couple of years now, and BrightAuthor sees those just fine. Even when I try adding the IP directly to BrightAuthor, though, it says it isn't able to access a BrightSign at that IP. A bit odd that it's responding to pings just fine.

I remember having a similar issue with mine.

When you plug in your SD card, do you see on the screen that it's updated its setup, and will reboot? And are you letting it reboot? First time around I remember adding the card, and rebooting it manually, not letting the unit reboot it's self.
