No connection for a brightsign and NEC projecter that work individually, just not together

We are working with a Brightsign Computer and a NEC Projector that are not functioning correctly together. The Brightsign functions well with a regular computer monitor and the NEC Projector functions well with a regular computer plugged into it. The only way that we can get the Brightsign to show up on the projector is to plug the HDMI cable into the regular monitor, turn on the Brightsign, let it load, unplug the HDMI from the monitor and then plug it into the NEC Projector. After doing this, the picture will be projected from the NEC for a few minutes. We have talked to the NEC troubleshooting helpline and they cannot see any issues on the projectors side. Any ideas on what we can do?

Thanks

That sounds like the resolutions supported by the projector do not match the resolutions supported by the player...thus it works when you fool it by connecting to a monitor.  But I thought the BrightSign player would output on the HDMI port regardless.

We have solved the problem by swapping out the LS422 with an HD1022 still outputting on HDMI. (Same settings we just switched the drive over).

If anyone has any idea why this makes a difference let me know. I did try this across multiple LS422's and none of them worked......

The player should output the selected resolution (assuming the target model is approriate) regardless of what the display device reports as long as Force Resolution is enabled in Presentation Properties.

If Force Resolution is not enabled, the player will negotiate based on the display's reported capabilities.

We are having the same kind of problem with a NEC projector.

NEC p502hl projector will not connect to Brightsign HD120 or HD220 over HDMI.

I have tested this with two different units of NEC p502hl. Same result with both projectors.

The projectors work perfectly with a laptop connected over HDMI and the also work with the Brightsign units connected in VGA.

    Presentation is a 1920x1080 60p video.

I also tried other resolutions, tried to activate "force resolution" in brightsign video settings.

Nothing works, apart from using an HDMI splitter (1 in and 2 out) and connecting an other type of projector on one output and the NEC p502hl on the other output.

The brightsign then sees the other projector, and outputs a signal that both projectors will display.

To me, this proves that the projector is OK with the signal that the brightsign is sending, but can not establish communication with it.

    EDID problem?

Please advise if there is a solution to this.

    Thanks.

We are experiencing the same issues with NEC projector connected to LS423.

Last firmware update was made about a week ago and we still have the same issue.

Will this be solved or is there a actual hardware issue that cannot be solved by new firmwares?

    Thanks!
