BrightAuthor Does Not Loop "Initial State" Video

Hi. We are having some troubles with BrightAuthor. We've tried creating a .bpf according to your intstructions in this video:
https://www.brightsignnetwork.com/download/Videos/ba2.2Gpios-Using-1.mp4

However, the initial state/attract video file fails to loop until GPIO button input and automatically starts to play the next video. Here's a video that shows the .bpf:

All input is welcome.

Thanks.

    For sake of proper trouble shooting, try to first loop the attractor on its own, without the GPIO event.

    There is the possibility that something is wrong with the attractor encoding, which prevents it from playing at all.

    Assuming that the attractor file is compatible, you could try and work around the issue, by adding a Media End event to the attractor, that would repeatedly transition back to the attractor loop, until GPIO triggers.

    Are you running the latest BrightAuthor, and firmware versions?

    Hi and thank you for your reply! The attractor file is playing just fine, it's just that it jumps directly to the next video file (and doesn't loop). Looking closer at it, the HD120 completely seems to ignore the .bpf on the SD card and just plays the video files on the card in order (based on filename). This is my first time trying out BrightAuthor. Should the .bpf file be named something special in order for the HD120 to find (and use) it? I'm looking in the .bpf (which is a plain text xml file) and it seems that some absolute directory paths are in it. Like this:

    <name>Playlist 0</name>
    <type>interactive</type>
    <states>
    <initialState>push_the_button.mpg</initialState>
    <state>
    <name>push_the_button.mpg</name>
    <x>161</x>
    <y>212</y>
    <width>116</width>
    <height>99</height>
    <id>0</id>
    <videoItem>
    <file name="push_the_button.mpg" path="C:\Users\Medeltidsmuseet\Documents\BrightSign\Tillblivelsefilmen\push_the_button.mpg" />
    <fileIsLocal>True</fileIsLocal>
    <volume>100</volume>
    <videoDisplayMode>2D</videoDisplayMode>
    <automaticallyLoop>True</automaticallyLoop>
    </videoItem>
    <brightSignExitCommands>
    </brightSignExitCommands>
    <notes />
    </state>
    ...

    If the player is looking for push_the_button.mpg in C:\Users\Username\Documents\BrightSign\Tillblivelsefilmen\ on the card it will obviously not find anything.

    This is what my test project looks like now:

    OK. I realize now that I had to "publish" my interactive playlist to the SD card. However, when I do that I only get a black screen on the player. I briefly see the booting screen of the HD120, then it just goes to black... I've waited 10 minutes, nothing happens. I've tried creating a really simple interactive playlist, still nothing happens. Frustration.

    That explains...

    You need to start over, by formatting your SD card, and become familiar with the BrightAuthor workflow.

    Transferring your programming is done via the Publish mechanism.

    Publishing can be done in several ways, depending on the mode of operation that the player is in.

    In all of the publishing method you should never manually copy media files to the root of the SD card, as everything would be done by publishing from BrightAuthor.

    There are video tutorials on the BrigthSign website, which I recommend that you watch.

    Start simple, by putting static text on the screen using Live Text, and build up from there.

    Make sure you schedule the presentation to show every day, and all day, and that the player's clock is set correctly.

    Hi again and thank you for your reply. I mentioned in my last reply that I tried the publishing functionality, but that it resulted in a card that would not boot at all. I made sure it was scheduled for every day. I will however control the players clock and do a reformat of the card next on monday. Thank you!
