Looking for anyone else experiencing occasional (1-2%) HDMI 1 audio failures on video playback. Recurring problem over past eight months using XC2055 and BrightAuthor:Connected with current software and OS across multiple updates. Player has been swapped out by Brightsign and issue persists. The same Presentations with failed audio always play correctly when scheduled before or after incident and unable to replicate. Audio can be reestablished on reboot. Brightsign continues to work on support ticket. Thank you.

emilyros eking I've also been experiencing occasional audio failures (around 1-2%) on HDMI 1 during video playback over the past several months. I'm using an XC2055 with BrightAuthor
, and this issue has persisted across multiple software or app updates and even after replacing the player. The odd thing is, the same Presentations with failed audio play perfectly before or after the incident, but I can't replicate the issue consistently. A reboot does fix the audio temporarily. I currently have a support ticket with Brightsign, but no resolution yet. Has anyone found a more permanent solution or workaround? Thanks! -
Thomas R Wolzien Sorry for your problems, but I'm glad someone else is experiencing identical issue because I think it means we're probably not doing anything wrong operationally. The fact that you are experiencing the same 1-2% failures that I am, even though both of our Players were replaced, makes it sound like the same problem. Your report broadens the issue to both BrightAuthor:Connected and BrightAuthor, making a shift to the other app as a possibly solution not necessary. Should you wish to use my ticket number for reference when contacting Brightsign Support, it is 372695. I have been reporting every incident.
One workaround I tried was using the analog audio output and inserting the good audio back into the HDMI stream with an HDMI inserter. The audio on the 1/8inch plug works when the HDMI 1 audio does not. I stopped using this because the workaround was even less reliable than the Player. Tries with several HDMI audio inserters produced consistently stable audio, but the inserters would frequently go to bars on various video switches made as content changed in the player.

alvisinparker Thomas R. Wolzien reported ongoing HDMI 1 audio failures (1–2% of the time) during video playback using the XC2055 and BrightAuthor:Connected over the past eight months, despite multiple software and OS updates. Even after BrightSign swapped the player, the issue persists—though oddly, the same presentations play perfectly before or after the glitch and can't be replicated consistently. A simple reboot restores the audio, and BrightSign is still working on the support ticket.
