BrightAuthor vs Connected. No local media list only Dynamic list?

It seems there is no way to have a local video or audio list in Connected.  Am I missing something?

    You can certainly add a static list of items into a Media List in BrightAuthor:connected.  When working on a bsn.Content presentation, those elements are selected from the content stored in the bsn.Content network, rather than locally-stored files.  Just double-click the Media List state to enter its playlist.
