DWS Not working

I installed, into a client's site, two series 5 players (can't remember the model, off the top of my head). Both were brand new, and the first thing that went in them was an SD card with some BrightScript and video files. The script sets the IP address.

When I try and access DWS on either machine, using a browser on a PC on the same network, I can't access it. Even running a script to turn DWS on doesn't work.

Anyone come across this problem?

Jennie's answer look like an AI bot and doesn't apply directly to BrightSign players.
It might be your network blocking access. Try connecting the player directly to the computer's network jack and boot the player with no storage so you see the info splash screen. Then try connecting to the APIPA address (169.254.x.x) shown. The local DWS, if enabled, should respond.

Another possibility is some CMS setups relocate the local DWS to a different port like 8080.

    Hi Jennie,

Thank you. Yep, I've tried all that. Both devices are fully accessible via IP from other devices, which are sending and receiving UDP messages from them.

My PC can access both my own series 4 Brightsign players without issue, so I can't see it being a PC issue.

The factory reset is the one thing I haven't tried, and is what I'm planning on doing. Just thought I'd check in here before I did to see if there was anything else I haven't tried. Luckily, the unit gets setup with the necessary settings in my script, so doing a factory reset shouldn't be much of a hardship.
