With a map as my main graphic can I designate (setup) each country on the map to be a hot-spot that displays different sets of media (text, images, audio, video)?

Allen H. Porter Like using a touch screen or attached mouse to "click-select" the country?

Bnaples yes, touch screen - I need to define multiple touch spots on a single image

Allen H. Porter We do this often...though I think the touch zones can only be rectangular. Each touch zone would link to other media in your Presentation. There is a touch zone object in BrightAuthor. Click it and attach it to your map. That brings up the custom properties for that touch zone where you can move it and size it...also lets you point it to the specific media you wish to bring up.

Bnaples Here is the product that our Art Gallery is buying:

On your comparison chart , which is the equivalent player - if any?
Which Authoring program should I download for the HS123?
What are my limitations - can I use several "touch" zones as you describe?
Can I have multiple hot spots on map that changes info in different zones?
Want to make sure that we are ordering the right model.

Lyndon If you want a standard player like the built in module, that would be the HD1023. It has the IO options the internal module has, and the internal is based on the same platform.
The only authoring application we provide is brightauthor, for windows. it works with all current players.
"what are my limitations" is too vague a question to answer. Any player that supports touch supports multiple interactive touch zones.
None of the players that support touch would be different when it comes to how many touch regions you have on the screen. It's not something tied to the model. If you were talking about how many video zones you could have on screen, then yes, that would vary by model.

Bnaples Thanks for getting back to me.
Just so that I am clear:
1) When I install AUTHOR I should set it up to work with the HD1023 - is that correct?
2) Yes, I guess I'm referring to "how many video zones you could have on a screen" with the HD1023?
Basically, the application calls for a map of Africa to be the main "menu". When you touch a country or area, media (text, images, audio, and video - what ever is available for that area) appears in another screen zone where it can then be manipulated, listened to, watched.etc. That's the general idea, and it seemed to me as I went through your tutorials, not all PLAYERs could do that.
Can the HD1023 do that? are we ordering the right screen/player combination?

Lyndon 1. Yes.
2. All players with touch can do this, but some players can only have one video on the screen at a time, and some can have two. Some also support mosaic mode where you can get more smaller videos on the screen than standard playback allows. The HD player falls into the 1 video category. it's not clear from your description how many video elements you're going to have on the screen.
I'd say you should use image elements on the screen for the menu if you're going to have many of them.
