BrightSign Player as Bulletin Board

Hey guys,

i already realized some projects with BrightSign products in the past and i never got disappointed.

Anyways, now i want to use BrightSign as solution for a digital Bulletin Board, if you know what i mean.

I already made a project with rectangular touch events to navigate through the menue, the menue layers are simple JPEG pictures. Beside some simple Image List's and Video List's, that I invoke with touch events, I want to call up  websites by HTML5. And now i explain you my problem that i experienced by testing the project. Although we have a good internet connection and the player is connectd by ethernet, i takes too long (5-10s) until the website is finally displayed. And if you touch at a menue and there happens nothing for five seconds, it's not a suitable way to go. So.. i dont know if this is a general problem when using HTML5 and BrightSign Player.

I am using the "low budget" LS423 Player. My actual question is, if a more powerful player can solve my issue. What causes the long reaction time? Is it just the lack of processing power?

Thanks for any good advices, or suggestions how i can solve the issue with the player that i own.

It may depend on the website and how fast the internet connection is.  when you publish you can enable the js console under properties, html sites. You can then log into unit at port 2999, and check what elements are taking a long time to load.

You can also test updating to 7.0 beta firmware and retest.
