Trigger an HTML page on a remote server

I would like to have a Brightsign device, upon starting a video output, to trigger an HTML page (that automatically runs a video/audio stream) on a server located on the same subnet, so that the Brightsign video output is in sync (with acceptable variance) with the audio/video stream that is output by the server.

Is there any way to accomplish that?

    The player is capable of sending a UDP message to the server, so the later can respond to..

    Alternatively, with the aid of a BrightAuthor plugin, an HTTP request could be initiated when your video starts.
