Is there a way to get a count of number of valid (scheduled in validity) items in a Dynamic Playlist or Live Media feed and store it as a variable? I want my presentation to do something different (with a conditional target) if there aren't any valid items in the feed.

Bright Scripters Answer is yes.
Sounds like you don't need a count, but rather to know if feed is empty or not.
Also, an empty feed would not show, and would reveal whatever underneath the zone that it is in.
Would that work for you?

Katherine Price It doesn't seem to be working for me. Here is my scenario:
Base presentation is in BrightAuthor, and uses a series of video lists. Each video list is a specific "theme", and plays one of the included videos before going to the next theme. One of my video lists references a dynamic playlist maintained in BSNEE. The dynamic playlist contains event-based videos that have a scheduled date.
I believe it will skip over the video list sourced by the dynamic playlist if the dynamic playlist is empty, but it will "freeze" on the last frame of the previous video if it reaches the video list and the dynamic playlist has content, but everything is expired.
Does that make sense?

Bright Scripters That calls for a bit of out of the box thinking :)
What happens if you always include in your Dynamic Playlist, a video file, consisting of a single black frame?
That should help you skip the almost unpopulated video list.

Katherine Price I thought of that, but then I would always have to change the expiration date on that 1-frame video to push it to start after the last-scheduled event. If there is active content, I would want it to play active content each time it gets to that video list. For example, if I had 3 active items and the dummy item, 1 out of 4 times when it reaches that video list, it isn't going to play a message.
This is for ticket sales at a theme park, so we need to make sure we are messaging the scheduled content as often as we can in between the "core" content. We lose an opportunity for sale if it is basically skipping this messaging opportunity.
It's do-able, but I'm trying to eliminate the amount of hands-on work I have to do to go in and change start/end dates on dummy content.
