Touch screen video resume

Hello all !

such a nice product and community, I am using a brightsign XT3 with a touchscreen, for a DVD like menu, where the user can choose between different videos he wants to play.

there is a video looping in the main menu where the user can select other videos to watch, the background video is 10 minutes long, therefor its nice if there is an option to "remember" at what part of the video the user left the main menu, so for example if the user watched the menu for one minute, and chose to watch something else, when he returns to the main menu (by watching fully the content he chose or by pressing the 'back' button i positioned on the video) he will return to the main menu when the video is playing at the moment where he left it and not starting again from the begining.

hope its possible and hope you can help ! thanks  !

There could be a quick workaround. Not perfect though...

The XT can handle two video files playing on two different zones.

You could play the loop on one zone, which the top most layer, covering everything else.

Once the user starts interacting, simply hide the top most zone, which would remove the loop from the screen, but it will not stop it.

When the user is done, and you need to loop to resume, unhide the zone with the loop.

The loop would not resume from where it was left off, but also it would not restart.

In order to actually pause and resume, a plugin is required.

Another thing to explore is the BrightAuthor video commands Pause and Resume, which may do what you need if you keep the loop on its dedicated zone. Never tried that, so you could try and share your results.
