Manually creating the Device Setup files

Hi,

I want to create a web app that creates files and folders for Unit Setup. Basically, same thing as going to tools>Setup BrightSign Unit on BrightAuther

Can I just create the files and folders that the BrightAutor does and create current-sync.xml file with device information?

  We do it.  We wrote software that looks at a "master" current-sync.xml file and then writes hundreds of configs automatically.  The magic is in a username and a salted password toward the end of the current-sync.xml file written by BA.

  @Allen H. Porter Thanks for the reply. I don't see the salted password when I created the device setup files from BrightAuthor. I'm using Simple Networking. Are you using different networking? My Wi-Fi password is salted though

  Yep sorry.  We run our own BSNEE and the user and password are for the player to access that.  These are generated in a conversation between BA and our BSNEE.

   

  Not sure how that works for Simple Networking.

   

  Just make a config and use that xml as the master and see what happens.

  Thanks Allen. I created a zip file that has all setup files for the brightsign unit. Thanks. :)
