BrightSign LS423 NOT accepting a new project. Also not accepting password.

Model LS423 has been running the same content for months. I recently created a new project with entirely new content, published it to to the device. The push appeared to be successful, no errors reported and the device rebooted normally. However, when the system came back up, it started playing the old content.

I then used a new micro SD card, and ran the BrightSign Unit Setup tool to configure it as a new unit. Entered the usual information, name, time zone, time server, selected Networked with Local File Networking, enabled the diagnostics web server and the local web server with the same user name and password.

I insert the newly configured SD into the device, power it up, BrightAuthor can see the device but is unable to connect. I right click on "specify user name / password", enter the credentials but am unable to connect. 

Appreciate any assistance.
