XT 1143 Streaming from Extron SMP 351 (Encoder)

Streaming is not contiously working. How much Bright sign XT1143 (Decoders) can work with Extron SMP 351 (Encoders)?? Multicast is Mandatory?

    You can setup one XT1143 as Streaming Server using the Streaming Server plugin, feed a video source into the HDMI input.It will then act as the encoder and will pump out a multicast stream which can then be played by other BrightSign devices. 

    This is a powerful feature, don't know why it is not advertised.

    But, here scenario is we are using Extron SMP 351  as a Streaming Encoder and 16 (XT1143) are there. Streaming is not consistent. Sometimes it will stream and may not. Bandwidth is good.

    How is the stream encoded, and at what bandwith? is this a transport stream. are you using udp, rtp, hls? what firmware are you testing on?

     

    If you are publishing using brightuauthor, you can enable debugging to the system log on the publish tab. with that enabled, when you log into the player's ip, and go to the log tab, there should be errors related to the stream problem.

     

    You can also log into the player's ip address, and go to the diagnostics tab, and generate a network capture file. Set it to capture for 30 seconds, and the pcap file saved on the sd card will have some useful information about the streaming failure.  You can send this information into support.

    I encoded the stream using interactive Video Stream Block using Brightauthor software. I entered the Extron SMP 351 IP in all decoders. speed is good. And im encoding using Unicast. I cannot find anything in Errorlog.
