Hello:
On the BrightSign Downloads page, it shows most current version of BrightAuthor as 4.7.1.14 and Firmware 6.1.76 for HDx20 and XDx30 Players.
However none of these players are accepting Setup Files from 4.7.1.14, they try, and then give the 10 red led flash errors.
Is anyone else having the same issues?
I posted this question in another thread about issues with Static IP's and BA 4.7.1.12 a several days ago, still have not heard anything back from BrightSign in regards to this.
The DNS static ip issue in 4.7.12 was fixed in 4.7.14. I'll try and duplicate your HDx20 issues.
Anything more on this?
I have to have an older laptop with BrightAuthor 4.6.0.36 to do config files all the time now.
I have not gotten BA 4.7.14 config files to work on any of the older players, even though BrightSign says they are compatible with the firmware I have installed on them.
It would be nice if we could get this resolved sometime soon, I would rather not have to go back to BA 4.6.0.36 for everything.
This problem has been identified and fixed in an internal build, 4.7.1.21. The next beta release of brightauthor 4.7.1.21 and later will include the fix.
Hi- Lyndon, I am having the exact same problem with BrightAuthor 4.7.14 and and Firmware 6.1.76 for some HD220 that I am trying to now get back working after I updated the HD220 firmware.
What can I do?
Until a beta or release of BrightAuthor with the bug fixed is available, set up the player with BrightAuthor 4.6.0.36

You can have it available and use it for setup while still authoring and publishing with BrightAuthor 4.7.1.x
Installing BrightAuthor v4.7.1.22 resolved all issues with creating HD220 and HD1020 set-up files. Disappointing that the bugs in v4.7.1.14 were not highlighted in any support posts. I searched all over for similar symptoms and couldn't find anything. Only now searching for "4.7.1.14 problems" did I find this post.
There must be 1000's of HDx20 players out there
And it would have been nice if BrightSign would have done a follow up to this post to let people know that BA v4.7.1.22 was out and solved these problems. I had been waiting for a reply.
I did not know a new version was out yet, and that it fixed these issues. Thank you Jon, for adding to this thread.
I wish BrightSign did a mailing list that easily let everyone know that there was new firmware/software released.
My point exactly. I've wasted days over a prolonged period if time trying to get our HD players set-up again. If I'd know the cause I'd have waited for an update. I had not long updated BrightAuthor anyway, and like you didn't know that 4.7.1.14 had problems, or that another newer version with fixes had been released.
A mailing list with updates, and bug fix news would be helpful.
