I am trying to use ethernet LAN to synchronize 3 videos, each under 4 GB, identical frame length.(I'm using LS3 and HD3 players and sandisk mini sd cards)
I have a mac, so I followed instructions to include autorun.brs master and client scripts in each mini of the 3 SD cards containing the video files. I checked and rechecked my scripts, file names and the IP addresses on these and nevertheless they would not play unless I removed the code files. Frustrating, but also I am a newbie, not a professional at this at all, just an artist who wants to get three videos to play in synch.
Thinking that if I could get I BrightAuthor, I would solve the problem, I got access to a PC, downloaded Bright Author and got lost between the different steps. I watched several videos and tried to find my way through BrightAuthor. What I need to know is how to generate the information that will go on the cards so they will play together on the network. (the .xml file?) And also, how does the media get on the cards? I can't figure out how to load the videos - do I do it directly onto the card, or is there a place to load all three through BrightAuthor? Is each video handled with a separate file/presentation?
Unclear things: Almost everything.. Is there anyone who can help me? I've been at this on and off for a month, and the exhibition deadline is close.
Must I format the players before they will play the media?
Do I format each one separately? This is a local, offline network.
Is there a problem with synching if each of the videos have sound?
Is there anyone who can walk me through this?
I have successfully followed parts of the instructions, but can't pull it together to make it work.
