Cannot get Simple File Networking to work...

At wits end... I've read all the documentation.  I'm very versed in creating a presentation, no issues via standalone or local file networking, but within my environment I need Simple File Networking, and it JUST. DOESN'T. WORK.

If I enter the location of autorun.brs (as suggested in the troubleshooting documentation) the contents display without the file.  The files are ready and waiting for the BrightSign to find them and commence playback of the presentation.  But it does not.

Help. Please.

What about the linked files in the current-sync.xml ?

Likely you either don't have the MIME type for files without file extension set to application/octet-stream and your web server is returning a 404 or you transferred the contents to the web server in ASCII/Auto mode instead of Binary mode and the binary files are corrupt.

THere should be a log.txt file on the sd card or a log in the currentlog folder if you enabled diagnostic logging. If the mime types are fine, the next question is if there's a difference between the url in the current-sync.xml on the sd card and the web server folder.  Also, how are you uploading to the webserver? filezilla?

Not in front of it to confirm other details at the moment, (I did turn diagnostic log on) but I'm uploading with FileZilla, binary transfer forced.

The jpeg downloads without issue, correct?  Clearly the MIME types are setup correctly.  Same for the brs and xml files...

Should these be part of the setup files or they should be present in the publish export. Why aren't they being created?

Interesting update... on a hunch, I copied the files for the initial upload to the web server onto the USB key with the setup files.  Of course, it worked! (Because essentially, it's just like standalone.  The question is... can I send an update the via the web server.  Stay tuned... If it works, essentially the only required workaround is that on initial publish, I need to copy the files to the storage (microSD or USB key).

Here goes... nope, won't accept updates.  More 404 errors...

All necessary files should be in the exported file/folder set.  Continuing in your ticket.
