I have done this with an HD1023, XD1033, and XT1144.  You can use any BrightSign player with GPIO ports.

Motion sensor with adjustable range and hold times:

    Model PIR-Z-B

Also consider purchasing the TB12-RJ12 Motion detector adapter and the RG12 cable to make initial testing easier.

    Hello,

I have recently purchased the above mentioned motion sensor and GPIO board from HMS to use with an HD1020, but I can not get this to work using BrightAuthor. I've spent two days changing variables in BrightAuthor, and reinserting the SD card into the player, but no sound.

My goal is to trigger an audio file from the motion sensor, have it play to to the end, and then sit in silence until the motion sensor is tripped again. This will be a standalone unit with an SD card.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Joe

    Finally got it.

On the Bright Author page: Event Handler to GPIO event, using buttons 1-7, all connected in the "Down" Position to the WAV file, connected to the Media End Event
